International Paper gives $40,000 to local groups

The Savannah Mill’s International Paper Foundation has awarded grants to 11 local nonprofit organizations.

The recipients include: Community Help Inc., $1,300; Youth for a Cleaner Environment, $1,000; Consumer Credit Counseling Services youth financial literacy program, $4,000; West Broad Street YMCA, $1,000; Savannah Association for the Blind, $5,000; Junior Achievement, $5,000; DEEP Center, $5,000; Savannah Tree Foundation, $3,750; Wilderness Southeast, $5,000; Savannah Book Festival, $5,000 and Coastal Center for Developmental Services, $5,000.

Each year, IP Foundation funding is provided for programs and projects to support organizations in the areas of education/literacy, environment and employee involvement.

“Providing financial support for these organizations to continue their work is an important part of the Savannah mill’s contribution to this community” said Karen Bogans, Mill Communications Manager and manager of the local IP Foundation.

Savannah realtors open new brokerage franchise

Two Savannah Realtors have joined the Better Homes and Gardens® Real Estate network with the new brokerage, Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Legacy. Co-owners Jeff and Steffany Farmer have been servicing the local Savannah real estate market for more than 20 years and will actively oversee the growth and business strategies of the new brokerage, which will serve the Greater Savannah region including Chatham, Effingham and Bryan Counties.

She served as the director of the Savannah Board of REALTORS® and is a distinguished member of RISMedia’s Top 5 in Real Estate Network.
