Savannah’s Fashion Night announces participating retailers
The Savannah’s Fashion Night Committee has announced 25 Savannah retailers will hold special events during the 2013 Savannah’s Fashion Night from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. Sept. 5 on Broughton Street.

Two stages on Broughton Street will showcase fashion shows of local retailers and designers.
Citi Trends sales up
Savannah-based retailer Citi Trends Inc. (NASDAQ: CTRN) reported Wednesday that total sales in the second quarter ended August 3 increased 4.2 percent to $137.8 million, compared with $132.3 million in the second quarter ended July 28, 2012.
Comparable store sales increased 1.7 percent. Net loss was $5.5 million, or 37 cents per diluted share, compared with a net loss of $7.9 million, or 54 cents per diluted share in the second quarter of 2012.
The company closed two stores, resulting in a total store count of 506 at the end of the second quarter.
Feed-a-friend day at Subway restaurantns
Customers who bring in a can of food or any other non-perishable food item and buy any regular 6-inch Subway sandwich today, will receive a regular 6-inch sub of equal or lesser price free as part of Feed a Friend day.
The event is being held to benefit Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia.
“We are honored to be able to support our local communities,” said John Remegi, board chairman of Subway restaurants of Savannah.
Participating counties include Appling, Bacon, Beaufort, Bryan, Bulloch, Candler, Chatham, Clay, Effingham, Evans, Hampton, Jasper, Jeff Davis, Knox, Liberty, Long, McIntosh, Montgomery, Screven, Tattnall, Toombs, Treutlen and Wayne.
Property appraisers gather in Savannah
The Atlanta and Savannah Chapters of the Appraisal Institute, with more than 825 chapter members, will co-sponsor two seminars and a joint summer chapter meeting in Savannah today and tomorrow.
Two education programs are scheduled totaling 14 hours of continuing education credit. A reception and chapter dinner meeting will be held tonight at the Hyatt Regency Savannah.
The keynote speaker will be James C. McCurry, with Georgia Ports Authority, who discuss the port of Savannah expansion and development project.
