‘Green’ awards go to Trident Sustainability

Trident Sustainability Group was recognized twice during the first USGBC-Savannah Green Building Awards program on Aug.22.

The program was presented jointly by the Georgia Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council’s Savannah Branch and the city of Savannah to recognize local achievements in green building and leadership in sustainability issues.

Trident Sustainability Group was honored for its planning, design and execution of the best residential new-built project.

Tommy Linstroth, Trident’s owner and founder, received an award as the green leader of the year for his efforts in green, sustainable building practices in the community and nationwide.

The Greenery recognized for excellence

The Greenery Inc, an employee-owned landscaping company based in the Lowcountry and Coastal Empire, was recently recognized for its landscape maintenance at the Avala Apartment Complex in Savannah Quarters.

Avala Apartments, maintained by The Greenery, won the Savannah Apartment Association’s platinum award for landscape beautification for Best New Community.

Paul Gray, The Greenery’s greater Savannah account manager, said his firm has been maintaining the complex since April 2009. The Greenery maintains the entire common area with special floral displays for enhanced curb appeal at the front entrance and sales office.

Leadership Beaufort class selected

BEAUFORT, S.C. — The Beaufort Regional Chamber of Commerce has announced the members of the Leadership Beaufort Class of 2014.
