Kroger announces community rewards program
Kroger Plus Card customers throughout the Atlanta Division, which includes eleven stores in the Savannah area, can contribute to charitable organizations of their choice with each in-store transaction.
Stores in Kroger’s Atlanta division launched a community awards program on Sunday to try to raise $750,000 for deserving schools and non-profits. Kroger Plus Card holders can enroll online at KrogerCommunityRewards.com to earn funds for their favorite charity.
Every time the customer shops using a Kroger Plus Card, he/she helps a charity of choice raise money.
Local schools, churches and other nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organizations apply and are approved by Kroger to be listed on KrogerCommunityRewards.com. For more information, visit www.KrogerCommunityRewards.com.
New bistro to open on Broughton Street
Dept. 7 East, a full-service bistro focusing on lunch fare and small bites, is scheduled to open in October at 7 E. Broughton St.
The Tea Room, also at 7 E. Broughton, will maintain a storefront and gift shop and continue to offer a variety of teas.
Dept. 7 East is located in part of what was Adler’s Department Store until it was destroyed by fire in 1958.
Co-owner of Dept. 7 East, Meta Adler, is a fifth generation descendent of Leopold Adler, the department store’s founder.
Dept. 7 East will be open Monday through Saturday 10-5 p.m.and closed on Sunday.
Machinery company buys Cumming-based firm
CUMMING — Tencarva Machinery Company, a distributor specializing in pumps, liquid process, and custom-designed systems for the industrial and municipal marketplace, has bought the assets of Pump Technology & Solutions Inc. (PTS), in Cumming.
Pump Technology & Solutions Inc., a full service pump distributor and manufacturer’s representative in Georgia, will operate as a branch within Tencarva’s GPM Division, which includes branch offices in Savannah, Alpharetta and Macon.
With the addition of PTS, Tencarva has 344 employees at 28 branches in eight states, including Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.
