Soap store to hold ribbon cutting
Savannah city officials will help mark the grand opening of Morgin’s Soapworks & More today at 106 E. Broughton St. with a ribbon-cutting celebration.
The 5:30 p.m. event will include owners Nelson and Lori Brown, members of the City Council, Savannah Downtown Business Association, Savannah Department of Economic Development and the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce.
The Browns are natives of Jesup who began making soap three years ago and selling their products wholesale. During the grand opening, the public will be invited to sample products and enter to win door prizes. Refreshments will be served.

New chef takes over at Oliva
Jim Zambito, a graduate of the culinary school at Baltimore International College who has worked with celebrity chef Jasper White, has joined the Oliva Restaurant and Bar as executive chef and general manager.
Zambito is expected to develop new dishes to complement the existing menu.
The restaurant at 10 Whitaker St. is owned by Juan and Aida Avendano and Larry Walters. It’s open six days a week and closed on Mondays. Dinner hour begins at 4:30 except Sunday when it begins at 3:30. Lunch is served Friday and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Taste of Tybee to feature 18 restaurants
The Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce will host the 17th Annual Taste of Tybee Business Connection Sept. 12 at the Tybee Island Pier and Pavilion from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
The event will be presented by Volvo of Savannah and Carolina Volvo and features tastings from member restaurants and caterers.
Taste of Tybee is open to Chamber members and guests only. The price is $10 for members, $25 for guests.

Non-profit, medical clinic to share ‘celebration’
On Sept. 25, the Community Health Mission and SouthCoast Imaging will hold a public celebration of their partnership ‘Share Life ... in 3D.’
For every ten screening 3D mammograms performed at SouthCoast Imaging, a free 3D mammogram will be donated to a Community Health Mission patient.
The event on Sept. 25 will run from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Lulu’s Chocolate Bar, 42 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and will include a “Ta-taTini” created by Lulu’s.
A percentage of the proceeds will be donated to Community Health Mission, which provides free primary health care to uninsured adults in Chatham County and surrounding areas.
