The city of Savannah’s Golden Broom award for this quarter was presented Tuesday to The Men’s Store by Joseph/On Time Fashion Men’s & Boy’s Store, 26 W. Broughton St.
The Golden Broom award is awarded quarterly to a local business chosen for meeting the following tree lawn criteria: Visually compatible with surrounding tree lawns; use of sustainable and uniform planting; creation of a harmonious design; functionality of design and meeting landscaping challenges.
Mayor Pro Tem Van Johnson presented the award on behalf of the city to store owner Joe Dabit and manager Tim Brown.
A residential counterpart award, The 2013 Green Thumb Award, will be presented to Matt and Ellen Grill, 234 Habersham St., during the Downtown Neighborhood Association’s monthly meeting on Sept. 24, at the Georgia Center.
