New Jepson Café opens at Telfair
Telfair Museums held a grand opening celebration Wednesday for the new Jepson Café, which has returned to its mezzanine location overlooking the Eckburg Atrium.
The new cafe is operated by David Hamer, Matthew Baldwin and Michael Clee, who have been involved in other local restaurants such as the B. Matthew’s Eatery, 5 Spot, Blue Turtle Bistro and Corleone’s Trattoria.
“We describe the cafe as a living exhibit, more than a place to get food,” said Hamer. “The beautiful setting of the museum also adds to the ambience of the cafe.”
The new effort includes an extensive selection of beer and wine choices and expanded hours.

Georgia Southern designated military friendly
STATESBORO — For the third year in a row, Georgia Southern University has been named a Military Friendly School by G.I. Jobs magazine for its efforts to provide educational opportunities to America’s veterans, active-duty troops and their families.
The 2014 Military Friendly Schools list can be found at militaryfriendlyschools.com.
Georgia Southern was ranked among the top 15 percent of schools nationwide in a survey conducted by Victory Media, a veteran-owned business and publisher of G.I. Jobs and The Guide to Military Friendly Schools. In a survey of more than 12,000 schools, researchers examined policies to recruit and retain military and veteran students.
