Downtown printing firm to ‘re-open’
IMAGE, a downtown Savannah printing company, will host a re-grand opening today from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 223 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. to introduce SCAD students, faculty, staff and local Savannah businesses to its new management, capabilities and look.
The company, formerly called Image is Everything, has been under new management since being sold last spring to Savannah-based DXM Marketing Group. Since then IMAGE has remodeled the facility, expanded its service offerings and bought new equipment.
Anyone who brings a canned good or other non-perishable food item for America’s Second Harvest food bank will receive a 10 percent discount off IMAGE printing services.
Colorboxx Salon to open second location
Downtown mainstay Colorboxx Salon will host a grand opening for its new Pooler location from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today. The store is located at 120 Towne Center Drive.
Owner Nikki Edwards founded Colorboxx Salon in 2007 and its main location is on Broughton Street. The business offers a wide range of hair styling services.
Pooler Mayor Mike Lamb is scheduled to attend today's grand opening celebration and ribbon cutting.
Savannah businessman to address BiS luncheon
Al Kennickell, president of the Kennickell Group, will be the featured speaker at the next BiS luncheon on Wednesday, Oct. 23, in the Savannah Morning News auditorium, 1375 Chatham Parkway.
Kennickell will discuss his business success and share the story of his family-owned company’s evolution over the past 120 years.
Networking will begin at 11:30 a.m., with the luncheon and speaker scheduled for noon. This event is free and open to the public, but RSVPs are required. Visit savannahnow.com/events to RSVP online.

Winners announced for Taste of Pooler and the Westside
The Sept. 19 Taste of Pooler and the Westside presented by the Pooler Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau, Inc. at Embassy Suites marked the chamber’s fifth year for the event and drew more than 500 people.
Attendees received ballots to vote for the best in each food category as well as Best Food Presentation and Best Decorated Table.
First-place winners are as follows: Appetizers, Snazzy’s; side dishes, Sisters Restaurant; entree, Sisters Restaurant; baked goods, Sweet Nothings Desserts; best food presentation, Pie Society; desserts, Sweet Nothings Desserts; best decorated table, Longhorn Steakhouse.
