Tradeport East to get new gas line

MIDWAY — Atlanta Gas Light Co. will build a 9.8-mile high-pressure gas line to serve Liberty County’s Tradeport East Business Center as part of the company’s $46 million expansion program.

The state Public Service Commission approved the STRIDE program — Strategic Infrastructure Development and Enhancement — on Dec. 12.

Liberty County Development Authority CEO Ronald E. Tolley said the project will help to fill a need for long-term development of the park.

“We feel this utility expansion will make us more competitive in attracting industrial jobs and investments,” Tolley said.

Earlier this year, the Georgia Transmission Corporation built a 115 kilovolt transmission line between Bryan and Liberty counties to increase service reliability for Tradeport’s industrial tenants.

The center’s fourth tenant was announced last month. Pactra International Co. Ltd. will distribute Hankook tires throughout 10 southeastern states.

Real estate company joins new network

Prudential Southeast Coastal Properties, which operates in the Savannah metro area, has begun operations as Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Southeast Coastal Properties.

The announcement was made by Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, a new real estate brokerage network operated by HSF Affiliates LLC.

“In joining Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, we are honored to become a part of a network that is entrusted with the Berkshire Hathaway name,” said Bob Laramy, broker/owner at Southeast Coastal Properties.

Earl Lee, CEO of HSF Affiliates LLC, said he was delighted to have Southeast Coastal join Berkshire Hathaway.

“They bring with them the highest level of service, expertise and knowledge of the Savannah real estate market,” Lee said.
