Savannah Tire Hockey Classic features six teams
Tickets are on sale for the Savannah Tire Hockey Classic as it returns for its 16th year. Hosted by the Savannah Sports Council, the event will be Jan. 16-18 at the Savannah Civic Center.
Tickets are $10 for mezzanine seats and $14 for loge seats on Thursday, $12 and $16 on Friday and $14 and $18 on Saturday with $2 off discounts available with a military or college ID.
Children may attend free on Thursday night, and families can receive discounted ticket packages for Friday and Saturday nights.
The collegiate tournament features teams from the University of Georgia, University of Florida, Georgia Tech, Florida State University, University of South Carolina and The Citadel.
The schedule is as follows:
• Jan. 16 — Citadel vs. University of South Carolina at 7:30 p.m.
• Jan. 17 — Georgia Tech vs. Florida State University at 6 p.m. and University of Georgia vs. University of Florida at 8:30 p.m.
• Jan. 18 — University of Florida vs. Florida State University at 5:30 p.m. and Georgia Tech vs. University of Georgia at 8:30 p.m.

Finalists for college’s top job named
Columbia College of Missouri, which has campuses at Hunter Army Airfield and Fort Stewart, has named two finalists for the position of president: Scott Dalrymple, dean of the School of Liberal Arts at Excelsior College, Albany, N.Y., and Randall W. Hanna, chancellor of the Florida College System, Tallahassee, Fla.
As a dean at Excelsior College, Dalrymple provides oversight to the humanities, social science and natural science programs and has published several works of fiction and non-fiction.
As chancellor of the Florida College System, Hanna provides oversight to 28 state colleges, which serve 850,000 students.

Georgia Chamber to hold annual meeting, breakfast
The Georgia Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual meeting dinner and eggs and issues breakfast on Tuesday, Jan. 14, and Wednesday, Jan. 15.
The annual meeting dinner will begin at 7 p.m. on Jan. 14, and will feature former U.S. Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez.
At 7:30 a.m. on Jan. 15, Gov. Nathan Deal, Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle and House Speaker David Ralston will provide a preview of the upcoming legislative session at the eggs and issues breakfast.
Both events will be held in the Thomas Murphy Ballroom of the Georgia World Congress Center (Building B).
