Average retail gasoline prices in Savannah have fallen 2.0 cents per gallon in the past week to $3.31 gallon on Sunday, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 262 gas outlets in Savannah.

The national average stayed at $3.30 a gallon last week, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.

Prices Sunday were 8.3 cents a gallon lower than the same day one year ago and are 3.0 cents a gallon higher than a month ago. The national average has increased 5.7 cents a gallon during the last month and stands 3.3 cents higher than this day one year ago.

“For much of the week ahead, we may see the freeze at the pump continue, as oil prices have recently shed some of their gains from late December,” said GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan. “January and February see some of weakest demand for gasoline in the year, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see the average move slightly downward in the next couple weeks.”
