Savannah area gas prices down this week
Average retail gasoline prices in Savannah have fallen 4.8 cents a gallon in the past week to $3.27 a gallon on Sunday, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 262 gas outlets in Savannah.
The national average has fallen 0.4 cents a gallon in the last week to $3.29, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.
Prices Sunday were 11.7 cents a gallon lower than the same day one year ago and are 5.5 cents a gallon higher than a month ago. The national average has increased 6.8 cents a gallon during the last month and stands 3.4 cents higher than a year ago.
“We saw very little change in the national average during the last seven days, and it’s likely that the winter blues continue to lead to an overall lull during the next few weeks at gasoline pumps across much of the country,” said GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan. “Due to the slow demand that January and February typically see, it’d really take a monumental ice breaker to crack the grip that holds the national average in place.”
