Foreclosure rates in Savannah decrease

Foreclosure rates in Savannah decreased for the month of November over the same period last year, according to new data from CoreLogic, a real estate reporting firm.

The rate of Savannah area foreclosures among outstanding mortgage loans was 1.06 percent in November 2013, down 0.23 percentage points from November 2012 when the rate was 1.29 percent, CoreLogic reported Wednesday.

Foreclosure activity in Savannah was lower than the national rate, which was 2.18 percent for November 2013.

Also in Savannah, the mortgage delinquency rate decreased. According to CoreLogic data for November 2013, 4.83 percent of mortgage loans were 90 days or more delinquent compared to 5.67 percent for the same period last year, down 0.84 percentage points.

 

‘Celebration of Love’ to benefit Park Place

The Park Place Outreach Youth Emergency Shelter will hold its Celebration of Love event with jazz, auctions, dinner and entertainment on Friday, Feb. 7, to celebrate the organization’s 30th anniversary.

Tickets are $125 for the 6 p.m. event at the Plantation Club of the Landings.

Last year’s event raised $23,000.

New real estate firm in S.C.

Realtors Hal Meeks and Frank Hoeflich have teamed up to form Meeks & Hoeflich under the banner of RE/MAX Island Realty to serve the Bluffton and Hilton Head Island, S.C., areas.

Four-diamond hotels identified in Savannah

The Auto Club Group has announced the 34 hotels and 12 restaurants in Georgia that earned the Four or Five Diamond Rating during the past 12 months.

Four-diamond facilities in Savannah include: Andaz Savannah, Ballastone Inn, Foley House Inn, Hamilton-Turner Inn, Kehoe House, Mansion on Forsyth Park Hotel and Spa, Autograph Collection, The Bohemian Hotel Savannah, Riverfront, Autograph Collection, The Gastonian and The Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort and Spa.

The only five-diamond hotel in coastal Georgia is The Lodge at Sea Island.

Four and Five Diamond establishments make up just 3.9 percent and 0.3 percent, respectively, of the 59,000 AAA/CAA approved hotels and restaurants across the U.S., Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean.

 

Real estate investor group to meet
