Golf tournament set to honor Night Stalkers
In honor of the “Night Stalkers” 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment at Hunter Army Airfield, the Council of College and Military Educators will host a golf tournament on Feb. 10.
Proceeds will go to the Night Stalker Hero Memorial Fund of Savannah Foundation Inc. Since the regiment’s creation in 1990, 20 Night Stalkers have had their names added to its list of heroes.
The tournament will tee off at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start at The Club at Savannah Harbor. Individual golf, golf packages and sponsorships are available.

Man, woman of year competition launched
The Georgia Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has launched its 2014 Savannah Man and Woman of the Year campaign in which candidates compete in honor of local children who are blood cancer survivors.
The candidates work with family friends and contacts to raise as much money as possible for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society with titles are awarded to the man and woman who raise the most funds in a 10-week period.
Last year’s winners were Tal Johnson of Dabbs, Hickman, Hill & Cannon LLP and Emily Dickinson of Wet Willie’s Management Corp.
The Savannah Man and Woman of the Year campaign will kick off March 27 at the Hilton Savannah DeSoto Hotel and end with a gala on June 6 at the Charles H. Morris Center.

New SouthCoast Medical site to hold ribbon cutting
A ribbon-cutting and open house will be held Thursday for the SouthCoast Medical Group Medical Campus at 89 Interchange Drive in Richmond Hill at the former location of Jump N’ Jacks Family Fun Center.
The Richmond Hill/Bryan County Chamber of Commerce will host the event from 10 a.m. to noon with the ribbon-cutting at 10:15 a.m.
The campus will include doctors Gary Fischer, Edward Hoffman, Douglas Perry and Regina Dandy. On-site laboratory and X-ray services will be offered with future plans to offer other ancillary services such as imaging and physical therapy as well as specialists in OBGYN and cardiology.
Since 1996, SouthCoast Medical Group has grown to include more than 70 physicians in Chatham, Bryan, Effingham and Liberty counties.
