Dairy Queen opens new Savannah restaurant

A new 2,612 square-foot DQ Grill & Chill restaurant with 50 employees has opened at 3009 Skidaway Road.

The restaurant can seat 70 guests inside, 20 outside and offers a drive-thru window.

“This new restaurant is sure to become a location where families and friends can gather to share smiles and stories over a great meal and treats,” said Dana Sanders, director of operations for Hodges Management Company, which operates four other DQ Grill & Chill locations.

Michaels store to open in Pooler in April

Michaels, an arts and crafts specialty retailer, is scheduled to open a new store April 6 at The Village on Pooler Parkway, at 252 Pooler Parkway.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 9:45 a.m., and doors will open at 10 a.m. Michaels will give away more than $1,000 in gift cards and prizes hourly throughout the day.

“We are thrilled to be joining Pooler community, and we hope everyone will come out to help us celebrate during our grand opening week,” said district manager Mel Standifer.

The new store will be approximately 18,460 square feet and will employ more than 60 people.

 

New Hilton Head yoga studio opens

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. — Island Yoga, a classical yoga and meditation center, has opened at 1012 Wm Hilton Parkway behind Panera Bread. Island Yoga offers classes, workshops, and private instruction in Hatha, Iyengar, Restorative yoga, Meditation and Ayurveda Lifestyle.

Private instruction is available by appointment. Classes are held Monday through Friday.
