And one of the largest Bitcoin trading websites has been taken offline, knocking the value of a single Bitcoin down by roughly 3 percent to a record low. Still, several local business are accepting bitcoin as payment.
• John Iacovini, the director of Savannah Therapy, promotes a culture in his work that’s non-confrontational. Instead of negative messages, he said, his therapists like to ask clients to tell them their problems, what brings them to the office and what they think might be a solution.
• Brady King began life in New Jersey but has found a home in Savannah where he began his business Soap On a Rope 14 years ago. The draw was simple: “The more I visited Savannah, the more I fell back in love with Savannah.”
Global shipping company creates 160 jobs in Gwinnett County
United Arab Shipping Company (UASC) will relocate its North American headquarters from Cranford, N.J., to Gwinnett County and will create 160 jobs with an investment described as “double-digit millions,” Gov. Nathan Deal announced Tuesday.
The company will build a 50,000-square-foot facility that will bring it closer to its operations at the Port of Savannah, Deal said in a news release.
“The strength of our ports is attracting global logistics companies such as United Arab Shipping Company to increase their presence here,” said Deal. “With our skilled workforce and solid logistics infrastructure, it is clear that this state-of-the-art company will continue to support the boom of the shipping industry.”
UASC, with its corporate headquarters in Dubai, serves Asia from Singapore, Northern Europe from Hamburg, the Middle East and Indian Subcontinent from Dubai, the Mediterranean and North Africa from Istanbul, and will serve the Americas from its new headquarters in Georgia.
