Program designed for young companies

Young companies and entrepreneurs in the planning stages of their business are invited to take part in the Small Business Development Center’s upcoming SBDC StartSmart Program.

Partial scholarships are available to eligible small businesses through Wells Fargo Bank, the program’s co-sponsor.

The program includes a book and eight high-energy, interactive modules covered in four full-day sessions.

The first session begins Tuesday, April 1, at Wells Fargo Bank, 136 Bull St.

Free financial education services seminars

Financial Education Services will sponsor four free financial education seminars on March 26-27.

Times and locations are:

• 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 26, at Second Bethlehem Baptist Church, 2501 Waters Ave.

• 5, 6 and 7 p.m., Thursday, March 27, at the Hilton Garden Inn, 5711 Abercorn St.

This seminar will help you learn how to safeguard your identity through identity theft protection, power-up your credit score though credit restoration and safeguard and protect your family and resources through estate planning.

Liberty County Chamber to host luncheon

HINESVILLE – The Liberty County Chamber of Commerce will host the Progress Through People Luncheon on March 27 in the Performing Arts Center in Flemington.

The subject for the luncheon will be Stroke Telemedicine — a partnership between Liberty Regional Medical Center and Memorial Health University Medical Center — and Liberty Regional doctors will conduct the session.

A demonstration of the Stroke Telemedicine technology will be included.

Dr. Joel Greenberg, a neurologist and co-medical director of Memorial’s stroke services, will be the principal speaker.

Applications sought for junior leadership class

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. — The Hilton Head-Bluffton Junior Leadership program is accepting applications from rising juniors for its class of 2014-15.

Applications can be picked up at the guidance offices at Bluffton High School, Hilton Head Island High School, Hilton Head Christian Academy and Hilton Head Preparatory Academy. Applications also are available at the Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Chamber of Commerce offices at 1 Chamber of Commerce Drive, Hilton Head Island and the chamber’s Bluffton office at 216 Bluffton Road.

The deadline to apply is March 31.
