Goodwill announces May job fairs
Goodwill of the Coastal Empire will provide ten job fairs open to the public May 6-9 throughout the region.
Employers will share information about their organizations and employment opportunities for qualified job seekers. Various industries will be represented, including hospitality, retail, aerospace, and manufacturing. It is recommended that job seekers bring resumes and dress professionally.

Medient to produce espionage thriller
Effingham County-based Medient Studios, Inc. announced today that it will produce an espionage thriller titled “Kickback” later this year.
A Medient news release said the film is based on an autobiographical novel by journalist Rocky Utang and will be shot in the Czech Republic, Poland and Hungary.
Kickback is the story of a renegade Moscow detective who defies government pressure to investigate the mysterious assassination of a maverick reporter.
Raza Mallal will be the director, the company says, and the cast will include John Cusack along with Famke Janssen and Mischa Barton, Sean Austin and Rutger Hauer.
Medient is planning to build a 1,550-acre production complex in Effingham County.
Girls on the Run to benefit from health lecture
Enmark stations will hold the second of five lectures in the Enmark Encourage Health Educational Series 2014 on April 29 featuring Paula Kreissler, president & CEO of Wound Care Clinic–ESU, Inc. in Savannah and the director of Healthy Living & Community Development Healthy Savannah and YMCA of Coastal Georgia.
Kreissler will talk about ‘Five Strategies for Busy Families to Stay Healthy’ during the lecture from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the auditorium at the Savannah Morning News, 1375 Chatham Parkway.
Her lecture will cover: making healthy choices in food and drink, portion control, changing together, exercise is vital and setting the example.
The selected charity for Kreissler’s lecture is Girls on the Run.
