Georgia Southern named ‘green college’
STATESBORO — For the fourth year in a row, Georgia Southern University has been named to The Princeton Review’s Guide to 332 Green Colleges: 2014 Edition, which highlights eco-friendly institutions based on their commitment to environmental and sustainability issues and is produced in partnership with the U.S. Green Building Council.
The guide profiles 330 institutions of higher education in the United States and two in Canada that demonstrate a strong commitment to sustainability in their free academic offerings, campus infrastructure, activities and career preparation.
Universities and colleges were chosen for the guide based on a survey conducted in 2013. The survey asked administrators about their institution’s sustainability-related policies, practices and programs.
