MALCOLM L. MORRIS

New job title: Dean of AJMLS and branch campus Savannah Law School

Company: Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School

Related Experience: Morris is a professor at John Marshall Law School in Chicago, where he is also the director of graduate estate planning programs and associate director of graduate tax law programs. Morris also served two terms as the associate dean and one as interim dean at Northern Illinois University College of Law. He has been active as an ABA accreditation site visitor, board member and treasurer of CLEO, Inc., LSAC trustee, and member of various AALS and ABA committees.

Education: Morris is a graduate of Cornell University (B.S.), SUNY Buffalo (J.D.), and Northwestern University.

TONY SWIFT

New job title: Field service representative in Africa

Company: Gulfstream Aerospace Corp.

Duties: Swift acts as the liaison between the company and Gulfstream operators based in or traveling through Africa. His responsibilities include providing technical guidance on methods and procedures pertaining to scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, facilitating full resolution of any technical issue that arises, and serving as a technical advisor to operators.

Related Experience: Swift was a field service representative for Gulfstream operators in northern New Jersey, with primary responsibility for the Gulfstream-frequented Teterboro, Morristown and Newark airports. He was also a member of the Gulfstream Contractor Logistics Support team at Chievres Air Base in Belgium.

Education: Swift earned a bachelor of science degree in aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He holds a South Africa Civil Aviation Authority aircraft and engine license, the equivalent of a U.S. Federal Aviation Administration aircraft and powerplant license, and is a certified FlightSafety International Master Technician for the G550/G500 and GV.

JON COHEN

New job title: Homecare team manager

Company: Hospice Savannah Inc.

Duties: Coordinate and supervise clinicians caring for hospice patients in their homes while assuring compliance with state and federal regulatory polices and procedures.

Related Experience: 18 years of hospice experience, including six years in management.

Education: B.A. in economics, Rutgers University. B.S. in nursing, Armstrong Atlantic State University.

DEBORAH L. DICKSON

New job title: Office manager

Company: Fields Law Firm, LLC

Duties: Dickson is the office manager for attorney W. Lamar Fields and is responsible for accounts receivables, case management and office administration.

Related Experience: Dickson has experience as a sales manager for J.C. Penney; inside sales account manager for Stout Marketing; marketing director for Wiley Dickson; office manager for Savannah Kitchen and Bath; branch office administrator for Edward Jones; intern for the Superior Court of Chatham County of the Eastern Judicial Circuit 2013-2014; Savannah Law Review 2013-2014; Mock Trial 2013-2014; and Student Bar Association Evening Class Representative 2012-2013.

Education: She has a B.B.A. in marketing from Terry College of Business, University of Georgia 2002 and she is a Savannah Law School, Juris Doctor Candidate 2016.

Lovett celebrates 37 years of service

Hussey, Gay, Bell & DeYoung (HGBD) celebrated William “Bill” Lovett’s 37 years of service to the firm. Since 1976, Lovett, a native of Statesboro, has served in nearly all officer positions for HGBD Inc., including secretary, chief operations officer, vice president and most recently, president for the past 10 years.

His responsibilities have included the design, supervision, coordination, and planning of multi-disciplined civil and environmental engineering work by the firm in core market segments including water/wastewater, transportation and municipal.

He continues in an advisory role with HGBD.

Lasky earns top honor

Jeffrey W. Lasky, the senior litigation partner with Lasky Cooper Law, has been selected by the American Society of Legal Advocates as one of the Top 100 Litigation lawyers in the state of Georgia for 2014. The American Society of Legal Advocates is an invitation only legal organization and limits their selection to less than 1.5 percent of the lawyers nationally.
