Davenport House museum service scholarship announced
In 2011, the Davenport House Endowment Directors initiated a scholarship for an outstanding high school student who demonstrates qualities that put the museum and its community in the best light. This year, the recipient is Liana Mosley of Savannah Arts Academy. Mosley will be recognized at the annual Spring Garden Party on June 1.
Vendeville receives chef educator award
Jean Yves Vendeville, department chair at Savannah Technical College, was named the best culinary educator in the Southeast, according to the American Culinary Federation. Vendeville, of Macon, received the ACF Southeast Region Chef Educator of the Year Award at the 2014 ACF Southeast Regional Conference held in North Charleston on April 26-29.
Armstrong professor receives endowment
Ella Howard, an assistant professor of history at Armstrong Atlantic State University, recently received a National Endowment for the Humanities fellowship to attend the Doing Digital History summer institute at George Mason University’s Roy Rosenzweig Center for History in New Media.
