Viracon, one of North America’s largest architectural glass fabricators, will invest $2 million in its Statesboro facility to expand its operations and create 125 jobs, Gov. Nathan Deal announced today.
“Georgia’s booming manufacturing sector makes it easy for leading global companies such as Viracon to remain competitive in Georgia,” said Deal. “Having the tools to help existing business create high-quality jobs is important to keeping our state a leader in the international marketplace.”
The 330,000-square-foot facility in Statesboro produces and fabricates architectural glass for major construction projects across the United States. The expansion will help the company meet expected growth in product demand, particularly growth in commercial construction activity along the Atlantic and Gulf coasts.
“We have a great team in Georgia,” said Bill Wright, Viracon’s vice president of U.S. operations. “On behalf of our employees, I would like to thank the city of Statesboro, Bulloch County and the state of Georgia for helping us grow our business in our Southeast plant.”
Bulloch County Commission Chairman Garrett Nevil said the commission was pleased with Viracon’s decision to add jobs.
“We believe that Viracon will continue to be a great success story for our communityk,” Nevil said.
