STAN DIXON

Duties: Dixon manages entry-into-service programs and leads the reliability, quality and availability action team and the production change management team.
Related Experience: Dixon served as vice president, Mid-Cabin Programs, overseeing all activities relating to Gulfstream’s mid-cabin aircraft, including the G150 and G280 programs.
Education: He earned a bachelor of science degree in engineering from Texas A&M University in College Station and is a commercial, instrument-rated pilot.
HOLLY MUHLHAN

After graduation, he received an appointment to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. In 1994, he was commissioned as an engineer officer.
CAPTAIN ROY L. FOUNTAIN, JR.

Related Experience: Fountain initiated his military career in 1995 as an Airman First Class graduate from the Basic Military Training Course in San Antonio, Texas. His career has been in the security forces field. After 13 years in the enlisted ranks, Fountain earned his commission through the Academy of Military Science. Upon graduation, he returned to the 165th Airlift Wing, continuing his service in the 165th Security Forces Squadron including a seven-month deployment as the sector officer.
Retired general joins Savannah Tech board
Lt. Gen. (Ret.) William Glenn Webster, Jr. has become a member of the Savannah Technical College Board of Directors. He was appointed by the Technical College System of Georgia state board.
Webster, a 37-year Army veteran, is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy, the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, the U.S. Army War College, and he earned a master of arts degree from the School of Advanced Military Studies.
Armstrong’s Goeser receives engineering award
Priya Goeser, an associate professor of engineering studies at Armstrong Atlantic State University recently received the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) 2014 Outstanding Mid-Career Teaching Award-Southeastern Section. The award recognizes faculty members who have demonstrated exceptional contributions to engineering or engineering technology education through outstanding classroom performance.
Public reations exec presents lecture at conference
Jennifer Abshire, founder and CEO of Savannah-based Abshire Public Relations, was selected to speak at the Public Relations Society of America’s National Counselors Academy Conference in Key West, Fla., on May 7. Abshire led a session titled “Planning Ahead: The Art of Succession.”
Memorial’s Gordon receives award
Jimmy Gordon, safety manager and emergency preparedness coordinator at Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah, has been named the top honoree statewide among the Georgia Hospital Association’s Regional Coordinating Hospitals. Gordon received the state award at the Emergency Management Association of Georgia’s 2014 Emergency Management Summit and Training Session at the Savannah International Trade and Convention Center.
Georgia Public Health nurse makes presentation
Betty Dixon, nursing and clinical director for District 9-1, was recently selected to present original research on the HPV vaccine, Gardasil at the National Institute of Health during their national nurses’ recognition ceremony on May 5.
Chatham County Association of the Deaf recognized
Chatham County Association of the Deaf (CCAD) received the “Kentucky Colonel” award from the fovernor of Kentucky for the work of their first CCAD president, Kelly Joseph Faust, in recognition of his work in the deaf community. Kelly was presented with the award on May 17 at Trinity Lutheran Church.
Heap recognized for her work with Elder Abuse
Chatham County District Attorney Meg Heap was awarded the Doris H. Thomas Award at the 15th Annual Consumer College. The award is given in recognition of an individual’s dedication to advocating for senior issues and serving the senior community.
