COLUMBIA, S.C. – KBRS, Inc., an advanced composites manufacturer of custom shower and tileable components, announced Thursday it will open a new manufacturing facility in Jasper County. The $2.6 million investment is expected to create 30 new jobs.

Build-out of the 60,000 square-foot facility at 8406 Speedway Boulevard in Hardeeville will be completed in the coming months, and KBRS will begin hiring in November.

Potential applicants may contact Leslie Manor at 912-352-0442 for details.

As part of this expansion, the company will also relocate its headquarters to South Carolina.

“We are excited to move to Jasper County, and we love the area,” said president and CEO Tommy Davis.

Altogether, $38.2 million in new capital investment and 304 new jobs were announced Thursday for Allendale, Bamberg, Barnwell, Colleton, Hampton and Jasper Counties.

TripAdvisor awards certificate to The Salt Table

The Salt Table’s retail salt, spice and wine shop has received a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence award.

The accolade, which honours hospitality excellence, is given to businesses that consistently achieve outstanding traveler reviews on TripAdvisor. Over the past year The Salt Table has achieved five out of five stars based on reviews by customers who visited the shop at 51 Barnard St.

For the certificate of excellence, businesses must maintain an overall TripAdvisor bubble rating of at least four out of five, volume and recency of reviews.

“There are many other fine shops in Savannah, and to share the spotlight with them is a great honor,” said co-owner Dave Legasse. “To receive such recognition based on actual Trip Advisor reviews is just amazing.”

Construction firm recognized for rehabiliation work

Three rehabilitation projects from J.T. Turner Construction received awards for excellence in rehabilitation from the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation at a ceremony in Cartersville on May 16.

The projects included The Baldwin Lofts in Milledgeville; the rehabilitation of Tift, Lewis, and Herring Halls at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton; and Levy Jewelers on Broughton Street in downtown Savannah.

Two of the projects were completed in conjunction with Savannah based architectural firms; Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College with Greenline Architecture and Levy Jewelers with Hansen Architects.

“We are honored that the Georgia Trust would recognize three of our projects that span across the state of Georgia,” says Tripp Turner, President of J.T. Turner Construction. “We are most proud of the fact that local resources were used on each of these individual projects.”
