Korea-based auto supplier to create jobs in LaGrange
Hanil E Hwa Interior Systems Georgia Inc. will invest $5 million to expand its LaGrange facility and create 80 jobs over the next two years, Gov. Nathan Deal announced Wednesday.
“Hanil E Hwa’s decision to expand here is indicative of our firm partnership with South Korea, and I am proud to welcome this company to our state,” Deal said.
Hanil E Hwa will locate into an existing building in the LaGrange Industrial Park, where it will make the additional investment. The announcement comes on the heels of a LaGrange delegation going to Korea to meet with corporate leadership.
“LaGrange and Georgia continue to be strategic partners in the worldwide growth of our company,” said Eddie Mabe, senior manager of human resources for Hanil E Hwa Interior Systems Georgia Inc. “We are pleased to continue to invest in the area and look forward to many years of success.”
Hanil E-Hwa located to Georgia in 2010 as part of the Kia Motors supplier network and provides a variety of auto parts to Kia, including interior systems, panels and bumpers.
Free Gnats tickets from St. Joseph’s/Candler
St. Joseph’s/Candler will sponsor a community night Friday night at the Savannah Sand Gnats game at Grayson Stadium to benefit St. Mary’s Community Center.
Anyone who brings a non-perishable food item — the items will benefit St. Mary’s — to the game will receive a free ticket.
The game starts at 7:05 p.m., while the food drop off and ticket pick up will begin at 6 p.m.

Open house scheduled for Virginia College
Virginia College in Savannah will host a friends and family anniversary open house from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at 14045 Abercorn St., suite 1503.
Members of the community and former, current and prospective students are invited to attend the event to celebrate the third anniversary of the college receive information about its programs.
A student-produced hair show will be held during the event, and complimentary refreshments will be available along with free giveaways and door prizes.
