CANDACE FORKNER

New job title: Assistant project manager

Company: Pioneer Construction, Inc.

Duties: Forkner will support project managers to ensure timely completion of documentation and assist in communications with subcontractors and suppliers. She will continue her duties as administrative assistant in the accounting department.

Related Experience: Forkner has worked for Pioneer Construction as an administrative assistant with her duties being primarily payables, receivables and assisting owners with daily operations. She worked for Fred Williams Home Builder as construction coordinator and customer service manager.

HAL DASHER

BILL SOROCHAK

New job title: Executive director

Company: Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Coastal Empire

Duties: Sorochak will provide direction and leadership to achieve the organization’s philosophy, mission, strategy, annual goals and objectives.

Related Experience: Sorochak worked at nonprofit organizations for 18 years. He spent seven of those working for the Ronald McDonald House of the Carolinas and two working for the Ronald McDonald House of the Coastal Empire. He served as the development director for the Girl Scout Council, executive director for the Muscular Dystrophy Association and executive director for Susan G. Komen.

Education: Sorochak has a bachelor of science degree in human resource management and a minor in marketing from the University of Connecticut.

ERIN MAGAW

New job title: Physical therapist

Company: West Rehab & Sports Medicine

Related Experience: Magaw served as a physical therapist with Select Physical Therapy in Bluffton, S.C. She also worked at Nova Medical Centers in Houston where she treated industrial medicine and workers’ compensation populations. She was also a traveling physical therapist for almost three years and has experience working in skilled nursing facilities, school systems and various inpatient and outpatient settings.

Education: Magaw earned a master of science in physical therapy from The Medical College of Georgia in Augusta and is certified in kinesio taping and dry needling physical therapy practices.

MEGHAN MOORE

New job title: Occupational therapist

Company: West Rehab & Sports Medicine

Duties: Moore helps patients suffering from musculoskeletal or cognitive disorders, as well as those recovering from surgery or avoiding surgery, return to functioning in all normal daily activities. In addition, she addresses patient deficits with therapeutic activities to increase strength and range of motion and decrease pain. She also works with children of all ages to address cognitive, sensory, fine motor and visual motor deficits for increased ability to participate in school and/or play.

Related Experience: Moore served as an occupational therapist at Southern Orthopedics in Brunswick, where she focused on hand therapy.

Education: Moore earned a B.S. in biology from Spring Hill College and an M.S. in Occupational Therapy from the University of South Alabama. She is also PAM certified in Georgia.

Education: DeVetter holds a JD from Georgia State University College of Law and a BA from Washington and Lee University.

The National Board of Trial Advocacy (NBTA) announced that Eugene C. Brooks, IV, of the law firm Brooks Law Office, has achieved recertification as a civil trial advocate. Brooks has been a NBTA member in good standing for more than 20 years.

Accountant certified in exit planning

WebsterRogers announced that Patrice Sebastian, CPA, earned the Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA) designation through the Exit Planning Institute (EPI). Sebastian is the first professional in South Carolina to earn this designation. She is a senior manager in WebsterRogers’ forensic and valuation services practice.

‘Young lawyer’ honored for leadership

Zachary Howard, an associate in Oliver Maner’s litigation department, graduated from the State Bar of Georgia’s 2014 Leadership Academy on June 6 at the State Bar’s annual meeting in Amelia Island, Fla.

Howard was also elected at the state bar meeting to serve as a representative from the Southern District of Georgia to the Young Layers Division’s Executive Council.
