JESUP — Rayonier employees based in Jesup have raised $135,513 for the United Way of South Georgia through personal contributions and fundraising activities, the company announced Monday and said the Rayonier Foundation will provide an additional $100,951 in matching funds to bring the total contribution to $236,464.
“It is an honor to be part of such a wonderful team of Rayonier employees who have conveyed their commitment to making a positive impact on our community,” said Jack Perrett, general manager, Rayonier Performance Fibers Jesup Mill. “Throughout our campaign, I was touched by our employees’ generosity and how they worked together to show what it means to Live United.”
The Rayonier employee campaign in Jesup began in mid-October with a goal of $100,000 and wrapped up in late November. “We are truly grateful for our strong partnership with Rayonier, our largest contributor,” said Malinda Corbitt, executive director of United Way of South Georgia. “The generous donations from Rayonier employees and The Rayonier Foundation ensure that our agencies can meet the basic and critical needs for so many in our region. We appreciate the ongoing support and look forward to continuing our partnership in 2013.”
