Bank of America donates $32,500 to Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia

Bank of America officials presented the Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia with a check for $32,500 Monday to support the nonprofit’s Kids Cafe and summer feeding.

Chad Cunningham, a Bank of America senior vice president, and market president Patrick O’Neil presented the donation to Second Harvest executive director Mary Jane Crouch and board president Quentin Marlin.

The contribution was awarded as a Bank of America Charitable Foundation grant.

As Second Harvest marks the 25th anniversary of Kids Cafe, officials said, the grant will help with its childhood hunger initiative to alleviate hunger for Coastal Georgia children. Kids Cafe is an evening meal program for children who are at-risk for hunger.

Second Harvest currently serves 3,800 hot meals at more than 48 Kids Cafe sites during the school year and 12,000 meals at 70 Summer Feeding sites.

The bank’s donation is expected to provide more than 125,000 additional meals for children Second Harvest’s 21-county service area.
