The Creative Coast is relaunching Geekend, an interactive conference for designers and techies, this November.

Now in its fifth year, the three-day conference brings together designers, coders, software developers, IT specialists and other creatively minded individuals for a weekend of speakers, workshops, panels and networking.

The conference took a hiatus in 2013 after Creative Coast took full ownership of the event from local nonprofit Thinking Cap, whose founders launched the first Geekend in 2009. The event draws hundreds of people from across the Southeast to share and exchange ideas.

“Geekend is the chance to interact with people taking the tech and creative industries by storm,” said Creative Coast’s executive director Bea Wray in a statement. “All these innovators, full of ideas and passion, in one space — the energy is practically combustible.”

Wray said this year’s event, to be held Nov. 13-15, will feature a lineup of nationally respected speakers, provocative topics and opportunities for participants to connect.

Past speakers have included Kickstarter cofounder Charles Adler, TwitPic founder Noah Everett and creative director of FX network Neal Holman.

The schedule of programming and events is expected to be announced soon. Registration for the event begins at $125 and includes access to speakers, workshops, lunches and receptions.
