Muller elected to serve with lawyers group
Peter D. Muller was elected secretary and treasurer of Georgia Defense Lawyers Association. Muller is the managing partner of the Savannah office of Goodman, McGuffey, Lindsey & Johnson LLP. The defense lawyers associationG, with 800 members, is comprised of attorneys who represent defendants in civil lawsuits.
Rotary Club names new president
Holden T. Hayes, regional president of South State Bank, was installed as president of the Rotary Club of Savannah. Hayes accepted the Rotary gavel from outgoing president Michael Traynor, publisher of the Savannah Morning News.
HDDA selects new executive director
The Hinesville Downtown Development Authority board of directors has named Michelle Ricketson as the agency’s executive director. She began work June 30. Ricketson has worked with businesses, government and volunteers. She has coordinated six national hot air balloon championships as well as a variety of the one-time and annual events.
Ronald McDonald House selects board members
The Ronald McDonald House of the Coastal Empire announced four new members were elected to its board of directors. The board is led by Bill Sorochak, executive director of the Savannah Ronald McDonald House. The new members of the board are:

Grimes receives Georgia Power award
Wayne Grimes, energy efficiency education coordinator for Georgia Power, was awarded the Southern Style Excellence Award for Unquestionable Trust. Georgia Power began awarding the Southern Style Excellence Awards in 2002 to recognize non-supervisory employees who demonstrate the Southern Style attributes of unquestionable trust, total commitment and superior performance, on and off the job. Grimes was presented with a plaque and a $1,500 check to donate to the charity of his choice. He chose the Rape Crisis Center of the Coastal Empire.
