Insurance agency owner recognized
Allstate agency owner Terry Carter has been designated an Allstate Premier Agency for 2014 due to his role as a business leader and involved citizen.
The Allstate Premier Agency designation is bestowed on fewer than 48 percent of Allstate’s nearly 10,000 agency owners across the country.
The Allstate announcement said the designation is being presented to Carter for outstanding business performance and commitment to putting customers at the center of the agency’s work.
“This award is not just about successful business results,” said Allstate’s Bob Holden. “It also demonstrates Terry’s commitment to being accessible to customers and leveraging expertise to help ensure customers have the insurance solutions they need to protect themselves and their families.”
The Carter agency is at 215 W. Collins St. in Pooler.
Armstrong to waive fees for military
Armstrong State University will waive all mandatory student fees for active duty military starting in the fall semester.
“A potential barrier to soldiers attending public institutions is the cost of mandatory fees not covered by tuition assistance,” said Armstrong president Linda M. Bleicken. “With this fee waiver, soldiers at Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield will be able to pursue degree programs at Armstrong without additional out-of-pocket expenses.”
Armstrong also will host a Start Strong, Start Now registration event from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 5 at the Armstrong Center, 13040 Abercorn St. Soldiers can take advantage of the fee waiver and apply for admission, receive an admission decision, go through advisement and register for fall classes all in one visit.
