Savannah insurance agencies recognized
Three Savannah insurance agencies and their owners have been designated Allstate Premier Agencies for 2014.
Fewer than 48 percent of Allstate’s nearly 10,000 agency owners across the country receive the designation, which is awarded for outstanding business performance and commitment to customers.
The three agencies are:
• The Vaughn Insurance Agency, David Vaughn, 413 W. Montgomery Circle, Suite #206, 912-925-5324.
• The Old Savannah Agency, James Grusheski, 401 Eisenhower Drive, 912-352-7620.
• The Mickey Rountree Agency, 5859 Abercorn St., Unit 1, 912-356-3815.
“These awards are not just about successful business results,” said Bob Holden, field senior vice president. “They also demonstrate these agents’ commitment to being accessible to customers and leveraging their own expertise to help ensure coastal Georgians have the insurance solutions they need to protect themselves and their family.”
Foundation donates $10,000 to plant trees
The Landmark District Tree Fund, a program of Historic Savannah Foundation, has donated $10,000 to the city of Savannah to cover the costs of planting canopy trees in the Landmark District, an area from Gwinnett Street to the river and from East Broad Street to Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
The trees, including elm, live oaks, sycamores, black gum and maples, were planted over the past two years.
The tree fund was formed in 1999 after completion of the Bull Street beautification project, which planted canopy trees on Bull Street and installed new brick sidewalks, light fixtures, litter bins and street and square name signs from Forsyth Park to City Hall.
