HINESVILLE — George Holtzman, the longest-serving member of Georgia Real Estate Commission, is stepping down from his role as broker/owner of Coldwell Banker Holtzman, Realtors, after 40 years in the industry.
Holtzman, who was appointed to the real estate commission by four governors, has served in a number of positions with the Hinesville Board of Realtors and as the president of the Georgia Association of Realtors.
Leigh Smiley will move from associate broker to managing broker/owner of Coldwell Banker Holtzman, Realtors.
Holtzman will continue as the agency’s qualifying broker and will continue to list and sell commercial and special residential properties.
Sales manager Brian Maike will stay with the agency with expanded duties.
“Leigh and Brian will make an outstanding team,” said co-owner Babs Holtzman.
Smiley has spent her real estate career with Coldwell Banker Holtzman, Realtors, and said she plans to keep the name the same.
Holtzman will move his office from General Stewart Way to 1146 E.G. Miles Highway where he and his wife own three other businesses.
Holtzman said he plans to focus on making the proposed Veterans Memorial at Bryant Commons a reality. The project is a memorial honoring veterans of all branches of service.
