DR. GILMORE MACGREGOR

New job title: Partner

Company: Savannah Neurology Specialists

Duties: MacGregor manages the full spectrum of neurological diseases in adults and sees patients in Savannah and Richmond Hill.

Related experience: MacGregor has practiced with the group for two years.

Education:

He graduated from the University of Georgia and received his M.D. from Mercer University and did his clinical training at Memorial Health in Savannah. He then went to the University of Alabama in Birmingham for his medical internship, residency and clinical neurophysiology fellowship. He is board certified in neurology and clinical neurophysiology.

DR. SHAWN WILLIAMS

New job title: Medical Director

Williams joined Willingway as staff physician in 2011 and was named director of medical education in 2013.

Education: Williams received his bachelor of science degree at Mount Vernon Nazarene College in 1997. He attended medical school at the Pikeville College School of Osteopathic Medicine in Pikeville, Ky. He completed his residency at St. John West Shore Hospital in Westlake, Ohio, and became board certified in addiction medicine in December 2012.

Williams retires from Rives E. Worrell

Jerry Williams retired as an estimator on July 25 after serving Rives E. Worrell Company and JE Dunn Construction for 15 years from February 1999 until July 2014.

Savannah native named Trooper of the Year

Chris Anderson was named this year’s Louisiana State Police Uniformed Trooper of the Year. His career began on the water when the Savannah native enlisted in the Coast Guard after graduating from high school in 1991.

Visit Savannah leader receives tourism designation

Visit Savannah Vice President of Business Development, Jeff Hewitt, received the Certified Destination Management Executive (CDME) designation July 23. Hewitt is one of nearly 275 destination marketing professionals to have achieved the CDME designation.

Local attorneys appointed to YLD Board

Humane Society elects officers

The board of the Humane Society for Greater Savannah has elected officers for 2014-15: Kathryn Williams, president; Julia Sullivan, secretary; Eric Zimmerman, treasurer and outgoing president, Shirley Sessions will continue to serve on the executive committee.
