Management firm buys Carriage House apartments

Kole Management, a Savannah-based apartment management company, has acquired Carriage House Apartments, a 144-unit apartment community at 125 Tibet Ave.

Kole Management now owns and operates 12 apartment communities with about 1,900 total units.

“We are delighted to acquire Carriage House,” said Kole Management President Jeff Kole. “It is a well maintained and upgraded property with nice landscaping and is a perfect complement to our Southside Savannah properties of Timberland, Edgewater Trace, Windsor Arms and Ridgewood.”

Grits & Magnolias receives TripAdvisor award

Grits & Magnolia Walking Tours has received a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence award.

The accolade, which honors hospitality excellence, is given to establishments that consistently achieve outstanding traveller reviews on TripAdvisor and are located all over the world.

Businesses must maintain an overall TripAdvisor bubble rating of at least four out of five and a certain volume of reviews and recency of reviews.

Grits & Magnolias’ has maintained a perfect five-bubble score with the reviews at its TripAdvisor page.

Additional criteria include a business’ tenure and popularity ranking on the TripAdvisor site.

Resort and Savannah Harbor Foundation support girl scouts

In a partnership with the Savannah Harbor Foundation, The Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa will activate initiatives designed to support the Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia.

The initiatives include:

• The resort is adding Girl Scout Cookies to its food and beverage options.

• Cookies will be made available at high volume check-in and check-out periods as a gift for guests and the resort will offer an opportunity to make a donation.

• Guests will also have a change to buy raffle tickets at the front desk for a chance to win monthly prizes with 100 percent of the proceeds going go the Girl Scouts.

• Visiting girl scout pilgrims will get a special hotel rate as they seek to learn more about the girl scout heritage and history.

• The 2014 Savannah Harbor Gingerbread Village & Competition will include a special program for the Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia.

• The Savannah Harbor Foundation will offer a discounted Festival of Lights admission to all girl scouts, past and present.
