Kroger effort supports Second Harvest

To help local food banks, Kroger’s Atlanta Division is teaming with the Great American Milk Drive to support Feeding America during Hunger Action Month.

Through Sept. 27, Kroger customers can “Pour It Forward” by buying a $1, $3 or $5 icon at checkout to provide food banks the milk they need. All donations collected in the Savannah area — Kroger has eleven stores in market — will benefit America’s Second Harvest Food Bank of Coastal Georgia.

“The ‘Pour It Forward’ program will combat the issue of hunger in our communities by providing our food banks with a nutritious source of protein that will help their communities,” says Kroger spokesman Glynn Jenkins.
