Gas prices continue downward trend
Average retail gasoline prices in Savannah fell 2.8 cents a gallon last week to $3.28 a gallon on Sunday, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 262 gas outlets in Savannah.
The national average has fallen 4.2 cents a gallon in the last week to $3.3, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.
Prices Sunday were 14.8 cents a gallon lower than the same day one year ago and 4.9 cents a gallon lower than a month ago. The national average has decreased 6.7 cents a gallon during the last month and stands 14.9 cents lower than a year ago.
“Over the next month or two it is likely the national average will fall another 10-20 cents per gallon to some of the lowest prices of 2014,” said GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan.
Chatham Capital Group opens Hilton Head office
Hilton Head Island, S.C. — Savannah-based investment firm Chatham Capital Group has opened a new office at 90 Main St. on Hilton Head Island and announced Jason Allen will lead the Hilton Head operations.
Allen has more than 16 years of investment management experience, including as an equity research analyst and portfolio manager with SunTrust Robinson Humphrey and Atlanta Equity Research, LLC.
Heidi Yoshida, who worked at Boys, Arnold & Company as an account administrator and director of financial planning, joins Allen.
“Chatham is excited to continue its steady growth by expanding into the Hilton Head Island market,” said principal Rick Muller.
Solomon Properties affiliates with Century 21 Real Estate
Independent real estate company Solomon Properties has become a real estate brokerage franchise affiliate of Century 21 Real Estate LLC and will operate as Century 21 Solomon Properties in Chatham and Effingham counties.
Solomon opened Solomon Properties in 1989 and now has two offices with 18 independent agents.
CENTURY 21 Solomon Properties has offices on Wilmington Island at 205 Johnny Mercer Blvd, and on Tybee Island at 802 1st Street.
SCORE sets top tips lecture for September
SCORE will present its September offering in the Top Ten business lecture series on Sept. 25.
The lecture titled “Key Questions Small Business Owners ask about Business Insurance” will be in the SCORE conference room, 111 E. Liberty St. from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The speaker will be Daniel Pavlin, a vice president in commercial insurance products at Bernard Williams & Company.
