Taste of Tybee to feature island restaurants, caterers
The Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce will host its 18th Annual Taste of Tybee Business Connection from 5:30–7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Tybee Island Pier and Pavilion.
The event features tastings from member restaurants and caterers and beverages. Live music from The Train Wrecks is sponsored by Southern Elegance Staffing.
The event is open to Chamber members and guests. The cost is $10 for employees of Chamber members, $25 for guests.
Complimentary parking is available in or around 14th Street and Tybrisa Street lots with an emailed invitation on the car’s dashboard.

New boutique to hold grand opening
Livvy, A Savannah boutique, will hold its grand opening and a ribbon-cutting ceremony from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday at 7360 Skidaway Road.
The boutique, owned by Olivia Wardlaw, will sell contemporary women’s clothing, shoes and accessories. With every purchase, shoppers will receive 5 percent off all items. In addition, 5 percent of each sale will be donated to the Rape Crisis Center of Savannah.

S.C. handbag firm named to fastest-growing list
HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. — Spartina 449, a Daufuskie Island firm known for its colorful handbags, has been included in the Inc. 5000 list of the nation’s fastest-growing private firms.
Spartina ranked No. 1,521 nationally and 19th in South Carolina in its second year in a row on the list. The firm recorded 281 percent growth over the past three years.
“We have amazing customers who enthusiastically buy our pieces year after year. This has helped us with our growth and allowed us to expand our line with each passing season,” said co-founder Kay Stanley.
Spartina 449 opened its first retail location in Bluffton, S.C. in June.
Engineering firm on INC fastest-growing list
MOBILE, Ala. — Hargrove Engineers + Constructors, which has an office in Savannah, recently ranked No. 2,461 on the 2014 Inc. 5000 Fastest-Growing Private Companies List.
The company has been named to the Inc. 5000 list every year since 2008 and has seen a 155 percent growth over the past three years.
The Inc. 5000 list is ranked according to percentage revenue growth over a four-year period. To qualify, companies had to be U.S.-based, privately held, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies.
