Morning News program will benefit nonprofits

The Savannah Morning News and savannahnow.com are introducing a unique program of philanthropy to benefit local non-profits.

Non-profit 501(c)3 organizations are invited to an informational session to learn how this program has worked in other communities and how it can provide valuable media space to get your message to the public.

Three sessions are being held to ensure everyone has an opportunity to attend one: Wednesday, Nov. 12; Thursday, Nov. 13; or Friday, Nov. 14. Each session begins at 8 a.m. and will last about an hour.

The sessions will be held in the Savannah Morning News auditorium, 1375 Chatham Parkway. Call 912-652-0236 to reserve your seat or register online at givebackbucks.eventbrite.com.

Attorney writes eBook on business structures

Charles Bowen of The Bowen Law Group has released his eBook “How to Form a Corporation, LLC or LLP in Georgia.”

The document is available to download on The Bowen Law Group website for free.

Bowen said he wrote the book to try to alleviate the cost of attorney services. It provides information for business owners or entrepreneurs interested in forming a corporation, a limited liability corporation or limited liability partnership.

He said it’s also meant to be useful for attorneys who are unfamiliar with the Georgia standards and guidelines surrounding these establishments.

If anyone has a question, readers are encouraged to call The Bowen Law Group at 912-544-2050 or email cbowen@thebowenlawgroup.com. Visit http://www.thebowenlawgroup.com/blog to download the eBook.

Savannah Jaycees announce bone marrow donor drive

The Savannah Jaycees and St. Joseph’s/Candler will hold a bone marrow donor registry drive for BeTheMatch.org on Nov. 22 from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. at the Nancy N. and J.C. Lewis Cancer & Research Pavilion, 225 Candler Drive, across Reynolds Street from Candler Hospital.

Be The Match manages the bone marrow donor registry, and once a match is found, the organization helps facilitate bone marrow transplants as well as patient support, research, education and overall awareness.

Joining the registry takes about 10 minutes, most of it for paperwork and a swab of your cheek. From there, potential donors are put in a registry. If a donor is found to be a match, the organization facilitates the bone marrow transplants. There’s no cost to the donor. Be The Match pays for everything.
