Insurance firm among Bulldog 100
The University of Georgia Alumni Association has included Savannah-based Cay Insurance Services in its rankings of the 2013 Bulldog 100: Fastest Growing Bulldog Businesses.
Cay Insurance, owned by UGA graduates John D. Sipple and Christopher Cay, ranks as this year’s 76th fastest growing business owned by UGA alumni. The firm specializes in the placement of commercial and personal lines insurance products on a national platform. More than 700 nominations were submitted for this year’s program.
Local firm buys BYTE-RYTE Computers
Integrated Network Solutions Inc. has bought the customer base of BYTE-RYTE Computers, Inc. The acquisition follows the July 2011 purchase by INS of HiQ Networking, formerly a Richmond Hill technology provider.
BYTE-RYTE owner Steve Foote said INS will ensure his customers “continue to have an effective provider for their current and future technology needs.”
INS owners Rich Neal and Mike Dodd said they have worked with Foote and understand how seriously he works in his customers’ best interests.
Foote will remain with INS as a consultant for at least a year. Jill Weaver, BYTE-RYTE’s chief technology officer, will work with INS in a similar capacity.
Details of the transaction were not disclosed.
ReStore offers home-repair workshops
Habitat for Humanity Savannah is offering free bi-weekly in-store workshops designed to help do-it-yourselfers jump start home-repair projects. All workshops are held at the Habitat ReStore, 1900 E. Victory Drive.
The workshops cover topics such as cabinet refinishing, interior painting or installing interior lights and include step-by-step instruction.
