Tourism council seeks nominations for awards
The Tourism Leadership Council seeks nominations for outstanding service in Savannah’s hospitality community.
Winners will be recognized during the 2015 Tourism Awards & Scholarship Dinner.
Awards open for nominations:
• Service Star Award for someone who works with the guests on the front lines.
• Service Leader Award for a managerial-level employee who exhibits phenomenal service to guests and his/her colleagues through exemplary leadership.
• “I AM TOURISM” Award for someone who embodies the spirit of tourism and promotes the “Hostess City of the South” mantra.
The following awards will be made by the council’s board of directors:
• Herb & Franklin Traub Visionary Award for someone who shows a vision for the tourism community and does what it takes to achieve it.
• John P. Rousakis Community Champion Award for someone who may not be from the tourism community who spends his/her time and talent championing for tourism.
• Member of the Year Award for a person or organization that promotes the mission of the tourism council.

Auto industry service company to locate in West Point
Hyundai Glovis Georgia, a logistics services company for the automotive sector, will relocate its parts consolidation center to West Point and will create as many as 190 jobs over four years, Gov. Nathan Deal announced Thursday.
The company will develop a state-of-the-art 310,080-square-foot sub-assembly and sequencing facility in the Northwest Harris Business Park. The facility will be used to assemble and distribute components to meet the demands and timetables of customers.
“We look forward to expanding our operations in Georgia and are appreciative of the support that we have received from West Point, Harris County and the state of Georgia,” said Hong Kee Rhee, chief operating officer for Hyundai Glovis Georgia.
