Foreclosure rates in Savannah decrease

Foreclosure rates in Savannah decreased for October over the same period last year, according to data from CoreLogic, a property information firm.

The CoreLogic data indicates the rate of Savannah area foreclosures among outstanding mortgage loans was 0.69 percent for October 2014, a decrease of 0.37 percentage points compared to October 2013, when the rate was 1.06 percent.

Foreclosure activity in Savannah was lower than the national foreclosure rate, which was 1.52 percent for October 2014.

Also in Savannah, the mortgage delinquency rate decreased. According to CoreLogic data for October, 4.08 percent of mortgage loans were 90 days or more delinquent compared to 4.86 percent for the same period last year, a decrease of 0.78 percentage points.

Disney wedding photographer to appear in Savannah

Jamie Weaver, who owns Dream Weaver Photos and three photo booths in Savannah, will host a photography seminar on Jan. 13-14 with Rick Ferro, the senior wedding photographer for Walt Disney World.

Ferro will teach lighting, posing and hand posing, body language, art of romance, exposure and how to use reflectors,

Ferro also is accepting requests for topics at Rick@rickferro.com.

The seminar will be in Brockington Hall, 213 Hall St. Early bird registration is $65 with breakfast and lunch included – $75 the day of the event.

A meet and greet will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Jan. 13. The Jan. 14 session will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

World Trade Center Savannah hosts seminar

World Trade Center Savannah will host The Understanding and Managing Incoterms seminar at World Trade Center Savannah, 131 Hutchinson Island Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29.

Rennie Alston, CEO of American River International Ltd., will lead the seminar.

Alston is a licensed customs broker and global security specialist with more than 30 years of work experience with the Bureau of Customs and Border Protection.

Incoterms rules are international commercial terms that clarify the communication of tasks, costs and risks associated with the transportation and delivery of goods.

Cost for the seminar is $100. Each participant will receive the Incoterms handbook, and attendees will receive four CES/CCS points.
