Job fair set for Jan. 6 for new decor and design center

Floor & Decor, a specialty retailer of hard-surface flooring and accessories, has scheduled a job fair for Jan. 6 to staff its 50th U.S. store – and its first in Savannah.

The job fair will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn Savannah Midtown, 5711 Abercorn St. The company wants to fill about 50 full- and part-time hourly positions for its new Savannah store at 1800 Victory Drive, across from Whole Foods.

Positions include cashier, sales associate, design consultant, warehouse supervisor, warehouse specialist, department supervisor and other management assignments.

Founded in 2000, Atlanta-based Floor & Decor is scheduled to open its new 68,000-square-foot Savannah store Feb. 12.

It will offer a selection of ceramic, stone, tile, wood and laminate flooring.

“With the opening of our fifth store in Georgia and our 50th store nationwide, we look forward to bringing our unbeatable product selection, quality, pricing and service to homeowners and contractors coming to our new Savannah location from as far away as Brunswick to the south and South Carolina’s Lowcountry to the north,” said Josh Moore, chief executive merchant of Floor & Decor.
