Southern Women’s Show returns to Savannah in March

The Southern Women’s Show has announced its celebrity lineup for its three-day run in Savannah on March 6-8.

They will include reality television personality Jessa Duggar Seewald from TLC’s show “19 Kids and Counting” along with hairstylist Michael O’Rourke and Food Network chef Emily Ellyn.

This year’s event at the Savannah International Trade & Convention Center is sponsored by Chevrolet, Georgia Lottery, Memorial Health, the Savannah Morning News, Walgreens and WTOC 11.

Advance tickets are available online at www.SouthernWomensShow.com— Adults $8, Youth $5 — or at Walgreens stores for $7. At the door, tickets for adults are $10, and youth tickets are $5. Ages 6 and under get in free with a paying adult.

Parking is $5.

Historic group accepting nominations for 2015 awards

The Historic Savannah Foundation, which is committed to preserving and protecting Savannah’s heritage, is accepting nominations for the 2015 HSF Preservation Awards, which recognize individuals and organizations demonstrating excellence in historic preservation.

The deadline for nominations is Friday, Feb. 20. Winners will be announced at the HSF Preservation Awards Luncheon on Thursday, May 7.

The awards recognize projects or individual achievements falling within the areas of restoration, rehabilitation, new construction, stewardship, craftsmanship and archaeology. Projects must have been completed within the last three years and may include projects previously nominated but not selected.

Beaufort Restaurant Week coming Jan. 25-31

BEAUFORT, S.C. — The Beaufort Regional Chamber of Commerce will have its Beaufort Restaurant Week from Jan. 25-31. Restaurants in Beaufort, Port Royal and the Sea Islands will offer special menus at $25 a person.

“Restaurant Week is a great opportunity to showcase our talented chefs and wonderful restaurants during a time of year that is typically slower for many of our restaurants,” said Blakely Williams, Beaufort Regional Chamber of Commerce President & CEO. “We hope this will encourage locals to explore new dishes and support our friends and neighbors during this event and throughout the year. We look forward to this becoming an annual signature event for our area.”
