Sip & Savor, featuring wine and bourbon samples, will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Holiday Inn & Suites, 103 San Drive, Pooler.
Other event features include appetizers and jazz. The cost is $25 and includes wine and bourbon samples and appetizers. Add $10 if tickets are bought after Wednesday.

Export seminar for food, agriculture firms scheduled
World Trade Center Savannah will host a global education program titled “Expand into International Markets: Export Seminar for Food & Agriculture Companies” from 12:30-5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24 at World Trade Center Savannah, 131 Hutchinson Island Road.
Organized by Southern U.S. Trade Association (SUSTA), the Georgia Department of Economic Development and WTCSav, the program is free and will address the basics of exporting U.S. food and agriculture products.
Subjects will include USDA programs to help your international marketing budget, export readiness, how to connect with foreign distributors, foreign market research and assistance, how to finance and protect your international transactions and shipping across international borders.

Attorney to speak at Leadership NOW event
Attorney Charles Bowen will be the second speaker in the 2015 Leadership NOW Lecture Series, sponsored by the Savannah Jaycees.
Bowen will speak Tuesday, Feb. 3 at the Jaycees headquarters, 101 Atlas St. on the topic “Lessons Learned from Atticus Finch.” Bowen is a business attorney who focuses on commercial, banking and manufacturing law and mediation services.
Networking begins at 5:30 p.m., and the program will run from 6-7 p.m.
The Jaycees invite the public to attend, and guests will have the opportunity to ask questions. No RSVP is required.

Georgia Southern announces $8,000 grant
Georgia Southern University has received an $8,000 grant through the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety to participate in the Georgia Young Adult Program. The program educates students about the dangers of alcohol abuse, underage drinking and impaired driving.
The grant will allow the Office of Alcohol and Other Drugs Programs to promote the “Safe Rides Saves Lives” campaign, which discourages driving while under the influence of alcohol. The office coordinates impaired driving prevention programs, which include Fatal Vision Goggles and DUI simulators.
