Chipotle to interview potential employees

Chipotle Mexican Grill will host an open interview day in each of its Georgia restaurants from 8 and 10 a.m. and 3 to 5 p.m, Tuesday at its outlet at 1801 E. Victory Drive.

The company says it wants to hire part-time and full-time positions for each of its restaurants.

Candidates can fill out an application at http://jobs.chipotle.com, use Chipotle’s job application app on their smart phones or tablets or complete an application at the restaurant and request a manager for an on-the-spot interview.

“Chipotle offers competitive pay and benefits to all employees, a free meal per shift, paid breaks and free uniforms for our restaurant employees,” said Amanda Klein, Chipotle’s lead recruiting strategist for the southeast region.

“We have full- and part-time positions available and encourage all qualified applicants to come out and see us.”

Golf outing to benefit Junior Achievement

Junior Achievement of Coastal Georgia announced that the 16th Annual JA Golf Classic Tournament will be May 6 at The Club at Savannah Harbor.

All proceeds benefit JA of Coastal Georgia, which will reach more than 14,000 students this academic year with programs aimed at teaching financial literacy, workforce development and business ethics.

The outing will begin with a shotgun start and follow a shamble format in which each player tees off on each hole. The best tee shot is then selected and all players play their second shot from that spot. All balls are then played out, and the lowest score is holed. Two mulligans per player will cost $20.

To register a team of four, email Alyson Mull at amull@georgia.ja.org or call 912-790-7822 for more information.

Armstrong to host third annual clothing closet event

Armstrong State University’s Office of Career Services will host the Third Annual Clothing Closet event on Thursday, Feb. 19 and Friday, Feb. 20. The Clothing Closet gives Armstrong students a chance to get one free professional outfit to prepare for interviews, internships and jobs.

Both sessions will be in the Student Union Ballroom at 11935 Abercorn St. The times are from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday.

The Clothing Closet initiative started in 2012 with just a single suit from Armstrong president Linda M. Bleicken, who felt students could benefit from the donation of pricey professional attire.

In 2014, more than 1,300 pieces of clothing and accessories were collected and benefited more than 250 students.
