Nova Medical Centers, an occupational medicine provider, has announced it will open a new occupational medicine center on March 2 in Savannah.

Nova’s services include minor emergencies, injury care, pre-employment services, drug screens, physical therapy, online reporting and other occupational health services. The facility at 1128 DeRenne Ave. is Nova Medical Centers’ sixth location in Georgia with others in Atlanta, Marietta, Norcross and Augusta.

Nova has 46 centers across Texas, Georgia and Tennessee.

The Savannah center will be open 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.

“We anticipate Savannah employers will welcome efficient and cost-effective workers’ compensation outcomes,” said Bruce Meymand, Nova’s chief operating officer.

In a news release, Nova said it treats more than 40,000 work-related injuries annually and achieves claim closure rates that are lower than the industry average.

The release said Nova uses cutting edge real-time Web-based reporting through its electronic medical system, Occuflex, which allows Nova’s clients to remain up-to-date with their claims.
