Savannah magazine seeks business nominations
The deadline to submit nominations for Savannah magazine’s “Good Company” Corporate Citizenship Awards is Friday, March 6.
“We want to reward local businesses that are changing the way we work and making our community a better place in which to live,” said Annabelle Carr, the magazine’s editor. “The ‘Good Company’ awards are a part of our 25th anniversary commitment to celebrate the city that has given us such compelling editorial content for a quarter of a century and counting.”
Finalists will appear in the magazine’s May/June issue, where they will be rated on their philanthropic efforts, environmental stewardship, corporate culture and employee benefits.

Medical billing industry leaders to meet in Savannah
Healthpac, a Savannah-based medical billing and practice management software company, will host more than 200 representatives from medical billing providers from across the country at the firm’s 11th annual users meeting March 5-7.
Healthpac CEO Buddy Claborn will begin the meeting March 6 with an industry overview, and the class sessions for attendees will include discussions of upgrades and new software launches in the Healthpac suite of medical billing and practice management software.
Brainstorming sessions with Healthpac programmers and administrators also will be included. “We will truly have the best and brightest minds in our industry at the annual users meeting, and we are proud to be able to bring this caliber of corporate event into Savannah every year,” Claborn said.
In addition to the educational sessions, many of the attendees also will exhibit their software and services.

Dentist Kermit J. Mallette has announced the opening of his new dental office, Pooler Parkway Dental Care, a full-service, state-of-the-art family dental practice in Pooler.
Mallette says he and his team will inform and educate each patient about the latest procedures and dental health care choices available to suit his or her needs. He earned his doctorate of dental surgery from Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry in Nashville. Mallette was an instructor of operative surgery at his alma mater for three years and is a fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.
