Business in Savannah in brief

West Broad Street YMCA sets $25,000 fundraising goal

The West Broad Street YMCA launched its 2015 fundraising campaign Monday with a goal of $25,000.

“Throughout Savannah, countless people know the West Broad Street YMCA, but there’s so much more to our Y than one might think,” said ZaDonna Slay, executive director and CEO. “The Y is more than a gym. It’s a cause. As a charity, we’re dedicated to nurturing the potential of every child and teen, improving health and well-being, and giving back and providing support to our neighbors.”

Charitable gifts last year provided hot meals and enrichment for children and teenagers through academic and youth sport activities. Donors also made it possible to serve more than 300 families through the Y’s holiday assistance program, Miracle on May Street.
