Hospice Savannah elects new members

The annual meeting for Hospice Savannah, Inc., the Hospice Savannah Foundation, Inc., and The Steward Center for Palliative Care was held on March 24 at the Savannah Golf Club. Newly elected to the Hospice Savannah Board is Joseph (Rusty) Ross, partner with Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP.

Officers serving through March 2016 are Bruce Barragan, Chair; Paul Meyer, Vice-Chair; Connie Darbyshire, Secretary; Rusty Ross, Treasurer; and Maura Sovchen, Member at Large. Newly elected to the Hospice Savannah Foundation, Inc. board are community volunteers Meredith (Merry) Bodziner and Susan Whitaker; and Southbridge Realty real estate agent Martha Sauter.

Officers serving through March 2016 are Amy Peirsol, Chair; Fran Kaminsky, Vice-Chair; and Vince Martin, Secretary/Treasurer.

Architects receive fellowship

Nurse selected to serve with FDA

Angela Long, adult nurse practitioner and manager for clinical best practices at Memorial University Medical Center, has been invited to serve as a consultant with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on the Drug Safety and Risk Management Advisory Committee. She will be classified as a special government employee consultant during the five-year-term.

Adams to serve on hospital foundation board

E. Bruce Adams, owner and president of Adams Funeral Services, Inc., had been selected to serve as a board member of the St. Joseph’s/Candler Foundations. The board guides the foundation in providing philanthropic support to the health system and its mission.
